5 More Outdoor Things to Do in Newport Beach

If you’ve already done the basics, these five mix things up and give you a little more variety.

1. Walk Around Balboa Island

The island loop is about two miles and one of the most relaxing walks you can take. You’ll pass waterfront homes, boats, and quiet streets. It’s simple, but that’s what makes it so good.

2. Take the Balboa Ferry

It’s a short ride, but it feels like a mini escape. The ferry connects the island to the peninsula and gives you a unique view of the harbor.

3. Go Whale Watching

Depending on the season, you can see gray whales, blue whales, and dolphins. It’s one of the few experiences here that still feels a little wild and unpredictable.

4. Rent a Duffy Boat

Duffy boats are basically made for Newport. Slow cruising through the harbor with friends or family is one of the easiest ways to enjoy the water without needing any experience.

5. Catch the View at Inspiration Point

This is one of the best viewpoints in Corona del Mar. It’s perfect for sunsets or just taking a break during the day.
